We built this web site to be another way of connecting with our friends and family (most of the latter) living on the mainland. The bulk of the movie, album and calendar pages are devoted to that end and are therefore domestically oriented for most part. However, the links, maps and Maui (info) pages are a bit more.

There you will find driving maps, restaurant reviews, shows, beaches hikes, links to local resource pages and classifieds. When I came in 1999 I couldn't find a resource for rental properties or used cars until I was already here. That was before the Maui bulletin was online.

I'm putting some time into creating a travelers resource that isn't commercially orientated. There is the shameless (but now disclosed) link to my commercial website for dive instruction and guide services. None of the other links are paid.  These are links to things we've done and enjoyed. Have fun on Maui.

About us

In my teens and tweens I did things.  First I Jumped out of planes next I traveled, then I Fished and after that I studied and did Research.  Now I teach things. For the past 9 years it's been SCUBA diving and Rescue. Before that I taught Biology.

Mostly I am Heather's husband and Kathryn's Papa. Our dog's name is Shadow and she is getting old. On days off I do home improvements, garden and play with my daughter at the beach. We produce more coconuts than I know what to do with. The whales come back every winter and tourist every summer. We live on an Island. Being surrounded by water doesn't limit our movement, only the mode of transportation.

I came to Maui in 1999 to work for a large dive shop. It was meant to be a temporary change from my "real" work.  Heather came to work here less than a year later.  We're still here, so much for temporary.  Our daughter, Kathryn Inez was born at Maui Memorial in 2005.  Heather has wanted to be a pharmist since she was 16 and worked as a part time tech. We met in college when she was a pre pharmacy major.  Heather currently manages Wailuku Longs and I run Go Dive Maui.
